STR 111

  • Description: Biodiesel Production - Transesterification of Vegetable Oils

Transesterification or esterification of renewable fats such as vegetable oils with methanol result in the production of Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) and glycerine. The esters formed are particularly suitable for use as road transport diesel fuel. This biofuel is referred to as biodiesel.

Heterogenous catalyst STR 111, has been developed to allow biodiesel manufacture along with direct production of high purety glycerine, free of any salts.

The STR 111 catalyst is specially formulated for the transesterification of vegetable oils for the production of biodiesel.
